Joelle Poyzer - Registered Nurse

Joelle is a Registered Nurse based in Canberra ACT.

After completing a Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2019 at Wollongong University, Joelle commenced work in Far West NSW local health district working in Broken Hill Base Hospital, Balranald and Wentworth Multipurpose Service facilities which includes experience in the Emergency Department, Medical ward and Residential Aged Care facilities. Working in rural and remote settings enhanced Joelle’s understanding for complex wound care and maintaining skin integrity.

After completing the transition to practice program, Joelle undertook a 12 month training program in the Intensive Care Unit at Canberra Hospital, and went on to work there for an additional 2 years. She then worked in the Emergency Department at Canberra Hospital for 6 months before starting her career as a Dermatology Nurse in 2023.

Joelle has an interest in medical laser having started her training in 2012 and continuing to upskill over the years. In 2025 Joelle will broaden her skill set further through studies to become a Dermatology Nurse Practitioner.
